Gets the coefficient of variation of a variable,
if it exists.
Definition
Namespace: Extreme.Statistics
Assembly: Extreme.Numerics (in Extreme.Numerics.dll) Version: 8.1.23
C#
The coefficient of variation of the variable, if it exists; otherwise NaN.
Assembly: Extreme.Numerics (in Extreme.Numerics.dll) Version: 8.1.23
public static double CoefficientOfVariation(
this Vector<double> values
)
Parameters
- values Vector<Double>
Field Value
DoubleThe coefficient of variation of the variable, if it exists; otherwise NaN.
Usage Note
In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type Vector<Double>. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).Remarks
The coefficient of variation is the ratio of the StandardDeviation<T>(Vector<T>) to the Mean<T>(Vector<T>). If the mean is zero, the coefficient of variation is undefined. It gives an indication of the variability of the observations relative to their size.
