KernelDensityEstimate.EvaluateLog Method

Definition

Namespace: Numerics.NET.Statistics.KernelDensityEstimation
Assembly: Numerics.NET (in Numerics.NET.dll) Version: 10.9.0

Overload List

EvaluateLog(Double)Evaluates the natural logarithm of the fitted density at a point.
EvaluateLog(Vector<Double>)Evaluates natural log-density at a collection of query points.

EvaluateLog(Double)

Evaluates the natural logarithm of the fitted density at a point.
C#
public double EvaluateLog(
	double value
)

Parameters

value  Double
The query coordinate, in original coordinates.

Return Value

Double
The natural log-density. NaN propagates. Either infinity and zero density return negative infinity. Signed custom kernels have an undefined logarithm and may return NaN.

Remarks

Uses log-sum-exp and analytic logarithms for built-in kernels. Custom kernels may provide a logarithmic delegate to preserve values after their ordinary density function underflows.

EvaluateLog(Vector<Double>)

Evaluates natural log-density at a collection of query points.
C#
public Vector<double> EvaluateLog(
	Vector<double> values
)

Parameters

values  Vector<Double>
Query coordinates in any order. An empty vector is permitted.

Return Value

Vector<Double>
A new caller-owned vector preserving query order and labels, with the point semantics of EvaluateLog(Double).

Exceptions

ArgumentNullExceptionvalues is null.
