Definition

Namespace: Numerics.NET.LinearAlgebra
Assembly: Numerics.NET (in Numerics.NET.dll) Version: 10.8.0

Overload List

TryEnsureWritableUnchecked(Int32, Int32) Ensures that the element at the specified row and column can be written to.
TryEnsureWritableUnchecked(Int32, Int32, Int32, Int32) Ensures that the elements in the specified inclusive row and column ranges can be written to.

TryEnsureWritableUnchecked(Int32, Int32)

Ensures that the element at the specified row and column can be written to.
C#
public override bool TryEnsureWritableUnchecked(
	int row,
	int column
)

Parameters

row  Int32
The zero-based row index.
column  Int32
The zero-based column index.

Return Value

Boolean

true if the operation succeeded; otherwise false.

Remarks

The row and column coordinates are assumed valid and are not bounds-checked. Invalid input has unspecified behavior.

TryEnsureWritableUnchecked(Int32, Int32, Int32, Int32)

Ensures that the elements in the specified inclusive row and column ranges can be written to.
C#
public override bool TryEnsureWritableUnchecked(
	int startRow,
	int endRow,
	int startColumn,
	int endColumn
)

Parameters

startRow  Int32
The zero-based first row, included in the region.
endRow  Int32
The zero-based last row, included in the region.
startColumn  Int32
The zero-based first column, included in the region.
endColumn  Int32
The zero-based last column, included in the region.

Return Value

Boolean

true if the operation succeeded; otherwise false.

Remarks

Both endpoints are included and are assumed valid. No bounds, ordering, or range validation is performed; invalid input has unspecified behavior.

A valid empty footprint succeeds for a mutable matrix without preparing or detaching storage. A valid empty footprint on a read-only matrix remains nonwritable.

For base and full-storage matrices, this method establishes value mutability and copy-on-write ownership without inspecting every selected coordinate. Representation overrides may additionally reject intrinsic fixed geometry using a compact structural check.

Successful ownership preparation does not guarantee that every coordinate reached later by a dynamic operation can be written. Dynamic safe unchecked assignment may fail after earlier writes have occurred. Use IsElementWritable(Int32, Int32) to query the exact permission for one logical coordinate.
